Origami Swift
The Origami Swift is a modern interpretation of a cult classic. With the approval of the original designer, Peter Reich, we have revived the Swift and added a few features never before available. The frame is now chromoly steel (as was the first generation Swift), has a 10-speed drive-train with a 381% gear range, hydraulic disc brakes, and a rear rack that permits the bike to stand in its folded position. The seat post and handlebar riser easily remove to minimize the folded dimensions.
The Swift will be available for delivery in May 2023 (barring any unforeseen pandemic issues). This bike is a bit different from our others as it is available with a taller handlebar riser for taller riders. It has the the widest gear range (26 to 99 gear inches) of any folding bike under $1,000.00 so it can handle the hills and bring you up to speed. The production model will have black rims, instead of the color-matched option shown on the prototype, but will otherwise look and perform the same. We added bottle cage mounts to both the top tube and the handlebar riser to accommodate those longer rides. The rear rack is set high and back for panniers, but it also acts as a stand for the bike in its folded position. There is even a mount for a Brompton front luggage carrier block for greater utility.
